But who am I?
Hi, and thanks for finding your way to my new blog ! Initially I decided to do this to allow my followers across platforms to follow my creative journey and to find out about my patterns and products more. So if you have followed me this far... THANK YOU !
As some of you may already know, my name is Alice, I live in Brighton on the gorgeous seafront right next to the dog walkers path and I love seeing nature go by. I am passionate, strong willed and a little bit of a typical "head in the clouds" creative. Most importantly, I am a crochet wizard. A lot of my designs have featured sea creatures , inspired by my surroundings and I have been branching out into pet miniature creation. I never imagined I'd be paying my rent through crochet dogs. But I would not change it. I love it !
My pet miniatures have come to define my brand since I started 18 months ago. I can get lost for hours basing my crochet on something real, something 3D. But really this is a Labour of love. I undersell my many hours designing and dedication purely because I love to see the finished product make a customer happy above anything else.
My work mostly revolves around the skill of Amigurumi. Something which comprises of many small stitches to create small plushies and toys. It works up in a 3D format. And I really began this to learn how to make spheres ECT. Since learning I only use my own patterns and ideas. My products are all unique and each pet portrait will never be replicated worldwide. Something I am incredibly proud of.
Going back to the beginning, I started creating to bring a bit of mindfulness into my everyday life after a tough breakup. It gave me something to focus on. So when people tell me I'm talented, it's really just A LOT of hours spent investing in my own improvement. (Little secret- I used to pretend to take toilet breaks at work to finish another round of stitches in the bathroom. My manager wondered why I needed to wee so much, well that's why ! I was just addicted to learning it)...
On this blog you will see some stories of how I have begun this as my full time work and the improvements and changes since. Tutorials on how to get started yourself with crochet and craft. And updates on new products in my etsy store. You can visit my shop to view my creations and patterns for sale by following this link... www.etsy.com/uk/shop/alicescuriousdream
On this bank holiday Monday I will be uploading some galleries for you to peruse here. However, I think the temptation to go and sit in the sunshine is too much and I may just take the rest of the day off.
